The Brand
Kimothoe is a Sea Fairy whose magical power is to create strong waves whenever she wishes. It all started in 2018; the design and creation of handmade jewels inspired by the four elements of nature (earth, water, air and fire) gave birth to ‘Kimothoe’.
I am Marianna, the creator of Kimothoe. I live in Athens, Greece’s capital. love travelling around the country and the Greek islands. Creation is an integral part of my life since my childhood, when I started creating handmade objects and jewels with materials from the generous nature, such as wood, clay, stones and seashells. Growing up and having studied the history of ancient Greece, I felt my call to this world: To create jewels made of silver, bronze and semi-precious stones in a primitive form, absolutely associated with the history of Greece.
These materials started to be used in 4000 BCE throughout Greece and Anatolia. I was motivated by observing the worn sea rocks hit by the waves, the footprint left by the water on the beach, the seaweeds washed up on the beach, the sea shells that pop out between the stones like diamonds. My intention is to offer (my work) and to make the world more beautiful by creating authentic jewelry made with love. Travel to Ancient Greece by wearing them! Thank you for visiting!
